Rhino Vase

Savuti Rhino Vase This Savuti Rhino vessel has been hand sculpted by Somandla Ntshalintshali with strong shield-like horns. In 2016, 1, 054 rhinos were killed in South Africa for their horn. This vase reminds us of the rhinos plight as well as their majestic beauty that we need to protect. This vessel has been painted by Jabu Nene, the queen of pattern. The bold colours remind us of an imagined Savuti sunset with silouhettes against a burnt orange sky. Jabu has filled the surface of the vase with feathered designs to embellish and adorn this formidable vessel.
