Hippo Hot air Baloon
Hippo Hot-Air Balloon
To celebrate Ardmore’s Voyage of Discovery, Senzo Ntshalintshali has sculpted this smiley-faced hippo carrying a basket of people off on an intrepid adventure in a hot-air balloon.
The use of hot-air balloons in our latest exhibition is two-fold. Not only are they synonymous with safaris, the ultimate Africa adventure, they are indicative of Fee’s journeys around the world with Ardmore. Balloons also point to birthdays and the significance of this year for Fee.
Siyabonga Mbaso has painted this happy sculpture, adding colour and intricate design to the balloon shape.
