Our ceramics are made by local artists - ordinary people from the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal,
who are given training, materials, a studio and a guaranteed market for their work,
under the guidance of our founder, Fée Halsted.
Fisokuhle Radebe was born in Pietermaritzburg in 1990. He grew up and studied in the Midlands and Mpophomeni area.
After his mother died of cancer, he and his family moved to Durban.
Fiso started a mechanical engineering degree, but had to stop after two years due to financial problems.
He had been working at a hotel in the area as a barman, when he heard about Ardmore. His friend and now fellow artist, Qiniso Mungwe, told him about his love for Ardmore and creating art.
Fiso says: “Here I am at Ardmore, the most wonderful place with the most amazing people who believe in team work like I do, who made me believe that together we can achieve more.”
Fiso attended Ardmore’s Winter School programme in 2015 where he showed talent at painting.
However, Fée also saw that he had a talent for computers and the potential to be sales person in the Ardmore Gallery which he has taken on with great enthusiasm.
