Our ceramics are made by local artists - ordinary people from the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, who are given training, materials, a studio and a guaranteed market for their work, under the guidance of our founder, Fée Halsted.
Cynthia Sibisi was born on the 2nd of December 1986; and attended Jabula Combined School from 1992 to 2003.
She initially joined Ardmore as cover for Ngoni, who was on maternity leave, and Sbo, but soon became a permanent member of the painting team, after Jabu Nene began to teach her new painting skills.
Inspired by Jabu’s beautiful pattern and design work, Cynthia would like to learn new styles and is also keen to try her hand at sculpting.
Says Fée Halsted: “Cynthia is an intelligent, outspoken young lady that I have enjoyed working with. I look forward to mentoring her in both painting and sculpting.”
