Our ceramics are made by local artists - ordinary people from the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal,
who are given training, materials, a studio and a guaranteed market for their work,
under the guidance of our founder, Fée Halsted.
Agnes Ntshalintshali was born in 1970 in Empofane.
She completed Standard four at the little school in the Champagne Valley of the KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg.
Agnes came to Ardmore in 1992 where her best work was as a sculptor of teapots.
She died in 2000 and her husband, Robert Ntshalinthsali, brother of the legendary Bonnie, died a few years later. They both died as a result of the HIV pandemic. They had two children.
