Sailing Away on the Zambezi…

Take a sneak peek at Ardmore’s first-ever painting commission. This magnificent scene was painted in acrylic by Sidney Nyabeze and Catherine Berning and depicts a troop of monkeys navigating the Zambezi River in a Mokoro.

Youth Day !

As we celebrate Youth Day this Friday the 16th of June, it seems apt to bring you the latest on Ardmore Ceramic Art’s Winter School. In its third year, the programme runs for three months from May to July and aims to uncover new talent and give a lucky few the opportunity to hone their skills and potentially gain full-time employment at Ardmore.

This year’s intake of 30 students under the guidance of Fee Halsted, Wiseman Ndlovu and Megan Berning will be taught drawing, painting and sculpting, as well as business, art history, marketing and finance. As Wiseman Ndlovu says, “It gives me great pleasure to grow more artists for Ardmore, to make Ardmore live on, when I and others are gone.”

Making you smile!

Bennet’s sculpture of a little boy laughing at his own nonsense as he plays with his zebra clay toys is a perfect example of how the Ardmore artists and their creativity continue to keep Fée enthralled.

There’s still time to see our Savuti Dance!

Are you in London this week? Pop into our latest exhibition at Patrick Mavros on the Fulham Road. Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and immerse yourself in an African wonderland: majestic leopards, mischievous monkeys and ancient crocs flirt with squawking hoopees and elegant cheetahs; Zulu Riders look statuesque atop their animal carriage. All the works are inspired by Ardmore Design’s Zambezi fabric collection and The Ardmore Collection Cole & Son wallpaper range. The exhibition runs until this Sunday.

Happy Mother’s Day!

To Mother Hens everywhere, we wish you a peaceful and relaxing Mother’s Day this Sunday. We hope you can find five minutes for yourself inbetween looking after your precious brood! This Guinea Fowl, tending to her chicks, was created by Ardmore’s very own mother hen, Betty Ntshingila.

Elle Decoration

We are cover stars! Our beautiful Singita wallpaper is gracing the front cover of the June issue of Elle Decoration UK. Created in collaboration with British wallpaper house Cole & Son, Singita is a dense Henri Rousseau-inspired jungle scene, with Alex Sibande’s animal travellers prowling handsomely through the vegetation. Singita and the entire Ardmore Collection of wallpapers will be on show in London this month at our new exhibition, The Savuti Dance. Join us at Patrick Mavros’ flagship London store from 18th-28th May.

The Silo Hotel

The Silo, the luxury new hotel situated in Cape Town V&A Waterfront’s Silo District, is a magical space. Each of the 28 rooms have been beautifully styled and themed by Liz Biden of The Royal Portfolio group. The highlight for us is the library room, featuring lounge seats covered in our very own Monkey Bean fabric – a beautiful, contemplative space worth visiting.
